2006 As you can see if you read the below I did not get on too well last time I was at Oulton. We
raced at Outlon 3 times this year after not racing there for 4 year. First with Wirral 100 in April.
I got a 3rd in race one, my best ever result at Outln, and 4th in race 2, equalling my previous best
at Oulton. I came away quite happy, the 2 lads that beet me in race one were not doing the full championship
and Nigel Baines was only 2nd in race 2, not to many points dropped, as I thought I would be 7th or 8th.
We then raced with Cheshire and Nantwich club in August in what can only be called bloody wet conditions,
it rain non-stop all day. I qualified 4th in timed qualifying, this was national meeting, part of the
ACU Stars Championship and was happy with that. In the race got a good start and pulled away from the
field and won by over 5 seconds, in a 10 lap race at Oulton, thats hard work. Again my best results at
Oulton. Finally we were back with Wirral 100 in late October, weather was cold and damp. Race 1
was wet, I won the 400 class by nearly 20 seconds!!! Was help by some stange overtaking moves behind
me mind.!! I was second overall to a National class 125 rider. Race 2 was red flagged when rain
started falling while I was in the lead overall and 5 seconds clear in class. aathis put me within 3
points of the championship but was the last round. Well there is always next year.

New motor developed problems in warm up and had to go back to the old motor. 2.5 hours later of hard
bloody graft in the pouring rain in the paddock and we were out in race one. But having no practice and
a brand new front wet thing could be interesting. As if that was not bad enough the weather could
not make it's mind up and ended up changing wheels three times through the day. Well time for the
first race,31st on the grid was going to be very interesting as it was raining cats and dogs, got a fair
start and was plodding along till we got to the bottom of Cascades and there was oil flag and the tell
tale rainbow that is oil and water on the track. Kept going for the rest of the lap and did think about
pulling in as the conditions were awful. But kept going and when I passed one of Bemsee's big guns,Richard
Norris, around the outside at Druids thought I better stay out we could be on for a good result here.
Bad move! Next lap and into Knicker Brook, one of the fastest corners on the circuit I lost the front
end and was into the straw bail as quick as that, ie about 90mph. The bike was a real mess and I was
not feeling to clever so packed up all me toys and took me ball home.
Very sore and feeling sorry
for myself at the moment.
